About

Andrea and ScottMy name is Andrea and  I live with my husband, Scott, in Fort Collins, Colorado.  We are new to Fort Collins having just moved here in the fall of 2012.

One of the very first things we noticed about this city is how amazingly dog friendly it is.  We have never lived in a place that embraced dogs so much and that made us fall in love with the Choice City even more.

There are hiking trails and dog parks all over the city.  For a dog lover, this city has so much to offer and we wanted to be able to explore it all.

We lost our long time companion, a boxer-pit bull mix named Rocky, in May of 2011.  After several months of there being no wagging nubbies and boxer snorts around the house, we knew it was time to adopt again.

We adopted Avery (yes, we named him after the brewery in Colorado) from a rescue in Denver in January of 2013.

Life with a rescue dog comes with its own challenges and Avery is teaching me so much about dog personality and training. This site is all about working through the challenges while exploring Fort Collins and having fun doing it!

I try to surround myself with dogs as much as possible.  I’m a K9 Coach with Animal House Rescue and I also work for them part time.  That’s in addition to working part time at a holistic pet food store.

I also blog over at Food Embrace where I talk about recipes, beginner homesteading, and discovering local resources.
